SHELTER 03 DEC – 15 JAN 2012 GALLERY 4 @ ORIEL MOSTYN
This unique, multi-dimensional exhibition developed out of a body of paintings by Gareth Griffith. He started to make small constructions of tents/shelters, initially to use as maquettes for his paintings. From this came the idea of a field of tents/shelters that in turn developed into a collaborative process with other artists. Constructed only from found materials that were to hand, sixty artists such as Peter Finnemore, Heather and Ivan Morison, Stephan Caddick, Morag Colquhoun, Andy Hazel, Bedwyr Williams, Ivor Richards and Paul Granjon have each contributed their own shelters. My contribution flysheet was made from flies that come to hibernate in the skylights and die by the hundreds.
